"We expect to be able reorder many more ACH-100-DEX products that have been recently added to our shelf. But, we expect to need delay that again as we are expecting more batches of DEX products to be ready for supply through an anticipated surge in demand the spring, after new college season starts," it said in an email last week.
The agency added that it didn't know exactly when products would return to store shelves, but it "will be as soon possible."
For now, the FDA says it has no plans to require stores notify customers when they're running out of their product.
"In the interim, while we are unable to make these orders available our customers, we will be posting information to our website, including the product quantity and expiration dates for ACH-100-DEX, in order to encourage our customers buy the latest and best products so that they are available when the season begins," FDA said.
